BIOGRAPHY
Chris has a heart for people and a gift when it comes to teaching that which he knows. His skill set and passion for the outdoors combined with his instruction instill confidence in our students.Chris was born in a military hospital in Augsburg, Germany and grew up in the Texas Hill Country. His parents set the bar high in regards to service to his fellow man. He was raised in a household that fostered less fortunate and disabled kids.
Chris enlisted as a combat medic in the US Army just three days before the 9-11 terror attacks on the Twin Towers and Pentagon. From 2003 to 2010 he was deployed twice to Afghanistan and once to Iraq. During his deployments he operated a combat aid station, he served as a Personal Security Detachment (PSD) medic for traveling dignitaries and other high ranking officials, and volunteered with a Forward Surgical Team acting in the stabilization and treatment of hundreds of wounded American soldiers and Afghan Nationals.
In 2010 he moved to Alaska where he was stationed as the Senior Medic and Instructor at the Northern Warfare Training Center, which teaches cold weather survival and operations in the winter and mountaineering in the spring and summer.
Today Chis continues his parents legacy fostering disabled people who need constant care. In Chris' free time, he is an avid hunter and trapper. He finds solace in the outdoors and sharing his craft at Texas Survival School.
