BIOGRAPHY

Brooke is a native of the mountains of North Carolina. She grew up in a small town near Asheville. Her family spent a lot of time camping and hiking. She moved to Charlotte, NC where she went to college and graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medical Technology. She has worked in many areas in Veterinary medicine including surgery, neurology, shelter medicine and general practice. She developed a passion for surgery, anesthesia, and radiology. Her husband’s career relocated them to Arkansas and finally to Lucas, TX where they reside now with their son, 2 dogs, 2 horses, and a cat!

She currently teaches for the veterinary technician program at Collin College. She is passionate about caring for animals of all sizes and takes that enthusiasm into the program while working to prepare technician students to deliver quality care.

In her spare time, she enjoys riding horses, hiking, backpacking, and spending time with friends and family. She is often seen at the Level 1 and 2 classes and has earned the nickname “Taco Forager” because she is always bringing food, snacks, and coffee to the instructors during those classes. She has completed Levels 1 and 2 as well and continues to practice the skills she learned from the classes as much as she can.

She has several certifications such as Canine and Feline CPR, Canine Wilderness First Aid, Equine Emergency First Aid, and her License of Veterinary Technology. She is also a member of EastTex CERT and has certifications in CPR/AED and Wilderness First Aid (for humans!).
