Chris joined Texas Survival School as an instructor in 2020 and shortly after completed his Wilderness First Aid certification. Chris has enjoyed hunting, camping, and backpacking for much of his life. He developed an interest in bushcraft and survival in 2018 and says he became “hooked” after attending his first class at Texas Survival School.
Chris is also a certified Hiking Guide with the American Hiking Guide Association by Northeast Mountain Guide.
Chris was born in Houston, Texas and as a child enjoyed playing in the woods, creeks, and the bayous around Houston. His family moved to a new development in the Dallas area when he was a teenager where him and his brothers spent many days and nights in the surrounding wooded areas that had not been cleared. In his early adult life, he got caught up in the hustle and bustle of starting a career and a family and didn’t find much time for the outdoors, but as his daughter got older and showed an interest in camping, he once again found himself enjoying the escape of being out in nature.
In his free time, you will often find Chris out with his wife and daughter, camping, hunting, or at the gun range.
